  Course Content

  Core concepts and principles of digital health

  Data and information systems in health and care

  Technologies shaping care delivery, communication and decision-making – including electronic records, telehealth, artificial intelligence and other emerging tools

  How digital approaches can improve patient care and widen access

  The challenges of implementing digital solutions in everyday professional practice

  Evaluating digital innovations across care, population health and professional learning

  Communicating digital concepts and solutions to diverse audiences

  Designing a digital health proposal or prototype that demonstrates critical understanding of innovation in practice

  Delivery

  Online delivery across 12 weeks. Pattern: Asynchronous, online, self-paced learning.

  Assessment

  Class Test and Assignment. There is no examination component.

  Selection Criteria

  Applicants must normally have a professional qualification in Nursing, Midwifery, Allied Health, Social Care Services and other relevant professional backgrounds and normally hold a relevant 2.2 Honours degree or above, or an equivalent qualification acceptable to the University. Applicants who do not hold a 2.2 Honours degree (or equivalent) may be considered on a case-by-case basis where they can demonstrate evidence of successful study at Level 6 in a healthcare-related subject. Decisions will be based on academic judgement and evidence of readiness for study at postgraduate level.
