    Your role

     

     

    We are delighted to be offering an exciting opportunity to join an experienced Product team as a Senior Full Stack Engineer in Claims Tech Solutions. The Senior Full Stack Lead Engineer serves as technical lead for a specific digital product team.  They drive best practices within the team and define new ones where none exist.  They lead the team in designing and building cloud native applications following 12-factor principles and guide the team in the selection of the best technologies that would enable the team to deliver high quality, scalable products quickly.  They collaborate with other product teams to share practices and play an active part in the decision-making process.

     

     

    • Serves as the anchor of the team and practices technical leadership; helping guide the team in choosing the right technology, solving technical problems, and resolving any technical conflicts within the team
    • Acts as a player coach in leading by example in day to day execution of the build out of technical product capabilities
    • Participate in product scoping, discovery and framing, and inceptions providing technical input and helps translate user features into system design
    • Leads and participates in inceptions and iteration planning meetings, infusing backlogs with technical input working in close partnership with the product manager
    • Leads the effort of shaping the architecture and design of the product
    • Collaborates on strategy across product portfolios in partnership with product managers, other peers and key stakeholders
    • Coaches and mentors the team and leads daily practices of using paired programming and test-driven development in writing software and building products

     

     

    As a Senior Full Stack Engineer you will have a passion for software development coupled with experience working in an agile environment leveraging test driven development.

     

    You will have experience developing software in different programming languages and demonstrated ability to quickly learn new languages and technologies, including but not limited to JavaScript (React) and Java (Spring). You will also have experience developing REST / GraphQL APIs and backend design and implementation.

     

    Additionally, you will have experience developing continuous integration, continuous delivery and continuous deployment pipelines for distributed applications, as well as knowledge and experience on approaches and tools for automated testing and monitoring.

     

     

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK'
    • 5 years software engineering experience including Object Orientated development experience

     

     

     

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

     

    • Previous experience leading a product team
    • Previous experience with Java Spring
    • Knowledge and experience of cloud technologies
    • Previous experience with ReactJS
    • Previous XP experience
    • Previous paired programming experience
    • Experience of front and back-end testing frameworks
    • Knowledge of messaging services (RabbitMQ, Kafka etc.)
