    Background Lease Accounting Processes: The Lease Accounting Team is part of the Real Estate Portfolio Administration area within Allstate’s Administration & Real Estate organization. The team is responsible for developing and reporting real estate financial data to leadership and other areas within the enterprise. 

     

    The data developed includes real estate rent and OPEX payments, building allocation changes, account reconciliations and statutory and GAAP reporting.  The team also compiles the annual plan for Real Estate, monthly forecasts and year end estimates.

     

     

    Responsibilities include (but aren't limited to):

     

    • Prepare building space (COR – 150) allocation updates monthly
    • Accrue and prepare payments for Real Estate Tax payments
    • Lease Manager Building Expense Report Analysis
    • Assist in creation, maintaining and closing of fixed assets
    • Complete lease classification testing and reporting
    • Assist in the preparation of monthly Executive Summary, ABO variance explanations, forecast and Headcount reports
    • Prepare real estate related operating and strategic plans, as well as monthly forecasts
    • Assist with cost transferring addendums
    • Prepare Account Reconciliations and Imputed Interest posting
    • Prepare various journal vouchers for Real Estate activities and various items including coding adjustment vouchers
    • Prepare company specific expense reports

     

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK
    • A degree classification in Finance, Economics, Accountancy, or similar discipline, OR
    • A degree in a non-finance related discipline but supported with a post-graduate qualification within a finance or accountancy related discipline AND
    • 2+ years’ experience in a Finance/Accountancy role
    • Chartered Accountant status achieved or actively pursuing the designation
    • Ability to multi-task and work with multiple customers and suppliers while consistently meeting required deadlines
    • Knowledge of financial statement reporting and related analysis
    • Good organizational and referencing skills related to work papers, financial statements and schedules
    • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to describe situations/problems clearly and succinctly
    • Strong working knowledge of basic computer software (Excel, Word)
    • Applicants must be willing and eligible to travel to the USA as required

     

     

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

    • General knowledge of U.S. Accounting Standards. Statutory accounting principles and Insurance reporting knowledge will be required to be learned on the job
    • The ability to research, assemble and communicate findings to areas requesting analytical information
    • Having a logical and analytical approach
    • Good problem-solving skills with an attention to detail
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Ability to build relationships and work as part of a global team
    • Familiar with Microsoft Office and the ability to analyze, manipulate, and interpret large amounts of data.
