    Your role in the team

     

    Here is an ideal opportunity for anyone with an interest in working with data and analytics to join our dynamic area where we are expanding our data and analytics capabilities. The Implementation Strategy and Operations (IS&O) department supports Allstate’s Personal Property Lines Product group as the implementation arm of rating, contract, and policy features. It also houses the Regulatory Compliance and Operational Risk team that ensure we maintain a steady state of compliance, mitigate risk, manage market conduct exams and provide reporting and analytics for a variety of areas. 

     

    You will join the Compliance and Risk Services team where you will work with data and use analytics to answer operational questions and influence business strategy such as the compliance, efficiency and quality trends. As this is a new position you will also be developing our team’s standards for data retrieval, manipulation, reporting and analysis.  Full training and mentoring will be provided to ensure success in the role. 

     

    • Provides data and analysis to derive insights that inform the efficient execution of business operations.
    • Provides technical expertise to leadership about metrics and key performance indicators.
    • Uses SQL to compile, clean and organize data to enable easy analysis of business results.
    • Produces Excel reports showing the analysis of data to inform decision making.
    • Monitors and evaluates business initiatives against key performance indicators and communicates results and recommendations 
    • Communicates project information through presentations and updates
    • Establishes standards of practice around data retrieval, manipulation, quality, reporting and analysis
    • Influences strategy through data and analytics
    • Utilizes expertise to coach and develop less experienced analysts

     

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK'
    • 2 years Intermediate SQL knowledge and experience to manipulate data
    • 2 years Intermediate MS Excel knowledge and experience to present data and results
    • Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools

     

     

    The successful candidate must also demonstrate a high competency in:

     

    • Excellent attention to detail;
    • Ability to identify and resolve data issues
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to effectively collaborate with multi-disciplinary groups 
    • High level organizational and project management skills in order to handle multiple concurrent assignments
    • Effective decision-making skills
    • Works effectively in a team environment

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

    • Experience in different programming/scripting languages such as R and Python
    • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Finance, Business, Economics, IT or related field, or equivalent experience or equivalent experience
