Global digital transformation firm Fujitsu has announced that it's just secured a major contract to provide new ballot counting solutions for local government elections
As we've all learned from recent global events, the quick and accurate counting of ballots is an essential part of any election. Scotland has been using e-Counting systems in its local government elections since 2007, with software firm Idox providing support for the 2012 and 2017 local elections.
Fujitsu has now signed a new five year contract to provide e-Counting solutions in future elections. The project is being led by Fujitsu’s Devolved Government Team in Scotland, who will be working closely with Idox and Elite Training to provide a complete e-Counting solution for the Scottish Local Government elections in May 2022.
The group will handle the counting software infrastructure, printing and distribution of ballot papers, the counting process itself, and training and support for local authorities.
