The inaugural AI Con artificial intelligence conference has been announced for the end of this month, with speakers from Google, Microsoft, and Amazon AWS joining local tech names.

Artificial Intelligence technology has been at the forefront of a tech revolution, with machine learning being applied to automate tasks that previously had to be done by hand. Local tech companies such as Axial3D and Kainos have been investing in the AI space and groups such as AI NI run regular events for AI tech enthusiasts.

Belfast will be hosting a major artificial intelligence conference this month to bring together AI experts and enthusiasts along with key business leaders in the AI space. The inaugural AI Con event will be taking place in the Europa hotel on Thursday 28th November, with tickets available now via Eventbrite.

The event will tackle AI from both the technology and business angles, with talks from experts in both fields. Key speakers will include Marc Cohen from Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft's National Technology Officer for Ireland Kieran McCorry, and Amazon Web Services Principal Cloud Evangelist Ricardo Sueiras. We'll also hear from local tech firms Kainos, Liberty IT, Rapid7 Belfast, axial3D, Allstate, Analytics Engines, and more.

Conference leader and Kainos' Chief Technology Officer Tom Gray commented on the need for an AI conference in Belfast's tech hub: "This is an area of rapid growth in the technology sector and there is an incredible amount of work being done locally to move it from research, into business and job creation. The conference is aimed at business leaders who would like to know more about how AI can improve their business, and also those from a technical and engineering background who are interested in how the latest AI research can be applied in a practical way."

AI Con will take a practical approach to AI, with firms demonstrating how AI is being used by their businesses and how the latest advances in AI research can be applied to solve real problems. It aims to bring together both those working directly with AI and business leaders who recognise the opportunities it can have for the tech sector. The full schedule of talks is available now on the AI Con 2019 website.
