Tech Trailblazer: Oladimeji Eyiowuawi, Software Engineer I at Dailypay

  • Meet Oladimeji Eyiowuawi, a Software Engineer at DailyPay, where he helps build mobile banking and card experiences that make a real difference in people's financial lives. With a background in Data Science from Manchester Metropolitan University and a passion for product-focused engineering, Oladimeji brings both analytical thinking and hands-on technical skill to everything he builds. We sat down with him to talk about his journey into tech, what drives him, and the advice he'd give to anyone thinking about following a similar path.

    What does your typical day look like?

    A mix of building features, fixing bugs, reviewing code, and working closely with designers and product managers to improve the app.

    What are you currently working on?

    I am currently focused on improving card-related user journeys, including migration flows, performance improvements, and analytics tracking.

    What inspired you to join this company in particular?

    DailyPay’s focus on financial wellbeing and building products that genuinely help people made it an easy decision.

    Did you always want to work in this industry (tech)?

    Not at first, but once I started building things and solving problems with code, I knew tech was where I wanted to be.

    What’s your favourite part about your work?

    Knowing that the features I work on are used by thousands of people and actually make their lives easier.

    What would you say to other people considering a job in this industry (tech)?

    You do not need to have everything figured out. Be curious, keep learning, and do not be afraid to start small.

    How do you see this technology impacting our lives?

    Technology will continue to make everyday services faster, more accessible, and more personalised, especially in finance.

    Who inspired you to work in this field?

    Seeing people around me build meaningful careers in tech showed me what was possible.

    What do you consider to be the most important tech innovation in recent years?

    Git. Because without version control, i honestly do not know how anyone built software before it.

    What tech gadget could you not live without?

    My laptop. It is essential to everything I do.
