Name: Pranav Tale
Role: Data Analyst, EY Northern Ireland
What does your typical day look like?
My day starts with meditation (sometimes) followed by music and coffee. I believe that starting the day with what I like really puts my mind in the right space and helps me be more productive in whatever I do next. I start my work by checking emails and prioritising the tasks that need to be done.
Once I’ve finished work, I head to the gym (that’s my non-negotiable me-time). I like to be organised and plan ahead, so before I go to bed I plan for the following day.
What are you currently working on?
I am working on two projects currently - one is in the training phase and the other one is coming to an end. Currently, I focus more on the deliveries of the second project and the quality of work we are providing.
What inspired you to join this company in particular?
I joined EY right after completing my master’s degree this year and during my research to find the perfect suitable opportunity, EY’s vision really caught my attention - along with having a great technical team and high-end clients. Apart from being amongst the big four largest professional services in the world, EY’s investment in the community really appealed to me.
I feel fortunate to have found my place in the well-established Data & Analytics team, with exciting opportunities for my technical career development.
Did you always want to work in this industry (tech)?
That is a big YES! I was always interested in computers, technology and data. As I progressed through my degrees I realised a simple theory – data is nothing but a collection of memories, a small piece of reality from the past! And data science is the extension to that - converted into writing, storing the information and developing a system to analyse it or make use of it.
This ‘so simple, yet so complex’ nature and the unlimited possibilities in the technology world motivated me to be in this industry.
What’s your favourite part about your work?
I really like the flexibility I get with working here and the people I work with. They are all so talented and it is always a pleasure to collaborate and develop something exciting with the team. I have learnt so much in the months I have been here, and I appreciate everyone as they have been always ready to help when needed!
What would you say to other people considering a job in this industry (tech)?
Even if you have little interest in technology, go for it. This industry is filled with new possibilities and opportunities.
How do you see this technology impacting our lives?
Technology is a vital component of our lives in this modern world. It has made everything around a bit easy and comfortable, right from commuting to communication and much more. Processes which were once manual and time-consuming can now be achieved in a quick and efficient manner with developing technology.
In our daily work life too, it helps us connect with peers efficiently without distance being the barrier and helps us share insights and grow as a team.
Who inspired you to work in this field?
There have been many but the first person who inspired me in pursuing this field was my older brother. Growing up, I saw him work on his laptop and keenly observed him right from the way he typed with so much speed to the thought he put into building logic. Technology is a huge domain that branches in so many fields and learning through him over the years I found my area of interest.
What do you consider to be the most important tech innovation or development in recent years?
IoT – The Internet of Things has always fascinated me among all the innovations happening in this industry. Currently, I have been reading about Digital Twins – Digital Transformation Technology. Here’s a quick link for anyone who is interested - Digital Twins Technology
What tech gadget could you not live without?
It must be my Smartphone, the smart gadget which has all I need when leaving the house.
