Your role in the team
As data and ubiquitous machine learning underpin our digital transformation, reliability and stability are as important as speed and time to market and require innovative new approaches for our scalability and latency needs.
Are you driven by building innovative software that enables data engineers to be more productive and identify performance bottlenecks and regressions through cutting-edge simulations or monitoring? Do you frequently use terms like chaos engineering, distributed automation, data fingerprinting, intelligent alerting, and instrumentation? Then Allstate Data & Intelligent Systems (D&IS) Team is the place for you.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)
As the Solution Engineer-Expert you will be part of the Chaos engineering, performance, and Automation team for our data ecosystem to move us from a reactive to proactive stance on reliability engineering and better handle system failures. The primary focus of the team will be to safely degrade the state of product applications and infrastructure services and to ensure minimal customer impacts. The team will embark on building tooling, consulting and embedding in partner teams to help with remediations, and evangelizing failure testing.
You will work closely with the development teams and will be expected to provide input into the architecture and scalability of various components. You will contribute to benchmarks, methodology, and analysis tools to be adopted Allstate-wide, evangelize and support performance work throughout the engineering team and across the industry. You will provide technical leadership to D&IS technology teams and upstream product teams.
