  Your role in the team

   

   

  Allstate Northern Ireland provides a wide range of IT Services across the Allstate Family of companies and we are excited to be partnering with fellow group member SquareTrade, in standing up a new team to support the company’s rapidly growing European growth strategy.

  SquareTrade specializes in extended warranty services for consumer electronics and appliances.   The EU Business is experiencing hockey-stick growth and has ambitious goals to be a $500 million business by the end of 2022. The business plans to grow aggressively in the Consumer Electronics category as well as the B2B segment of providing protection plans for small businesses. The SquareTrade Allstate NI Engineering team will play a critical role in supporting the EU business meet its growth targets and contribute to the delivery of key offerings that will facilitate the growth strategy.

   

  We are looking for a talented, energetic Software Test Engineers to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for extensive testing across various product lines and work as an integral part of the product delivery team. The team will seek to fully harness test automation and other best practice testing practices such as Mutation and Contract testing to help safeguard a high quality of product.

   

  You will work closely with the product, business and operations team to understand requirements and create, execute, manage and report test plans, test cases and test reports.  A good understanding of SDLC, and Software Quality Life Cycle, Agile/Scrum procedures and processes.

   

   

  Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)

   

  • Work closely with product, business, and developers to understand requirements and create detailed test plans, test cases and identify risks
  • Create and maintain test suites for functional, regression, acceptance and UAT testing
  • Responsible for automation tasks within an agile team
  • Work with other Senior QAs on automation effort in identifying key areas for improvements across teams
  • Responsible for functional, integration, data integrity and regression testing activities in order to ensure quality of code before releasing to production
  • Create detailed bug reports by performing root cause analysis and work with product teams and engineering leads to prioritize them
  • Liaison between product, development and SQA community to enforce SQA standards and best practices to deliver quality code
  • Provide sprint & release test reports, metrics
  • Understand deployment scenarios and manage deployment to test environments

   

   

   

  So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

   

  • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK'
  • 12months post graduate experience as a Software Test Engineer
  • Experience with REST services
  • Experience writing and maintaining automated test cases using Selenium and TestNG written in Java
  • Understanding of SDLC processes and agile, experience in applying test methodologies, creating test plans, test cases, test reports, and relevant tools and technologies

   

   

  We also have some desirable criteria

   

  • Degree in Computer Science with emphasis on Quality Assurance.
  • Experience with LINUX environments, build deployments, debugging & installation
  • Proficiency with SQL
  • Experience with Git, Jira, Jenkins, Gradle, Selenium Grid
  • Experience with performance tools
  • E-commerce domain experience
  • Proven experience working in agile methodology & demonstrated ability to work in dynamic, fast paced work environments
