    Your role in the team

     

     

    As a DevOps Engineer you will be working with development Teams to oversee the code releases, combining an understanding of both engineering and coding practices, as well as creating and implementing systems software and analyzing data to improve processes/builds/deployments.


    The aim of a DevOps Engineer is to increases productivity in the workplace, across development and operations. You will be developing inhouse tooling/processes and/or modifying the plugins according to the requirements.


    Experience working on Linux based infrastructure, configuration and managing databases such as MySQL. You will be overseeing routine maintenance procedures and performing diagnostic tests, as well as documenting processes and monitoring performance metrics.

     

    • Contributing expertise on information system options, risk, and operational impact.
    • Mentoring junior software developers in gaining experience and assuming DevOps responsibilities.
    • Managing the installation and configuration of solutions.
    • Collaborating with developers on software requirements, as well as interpreting test stage data.
    • Developing interface simulators and designing automated module deployments.
    • Completing code and script updates, as well as resolving product implementation errors.
    • Overseeing routine maintenance procedures and performing diagnostic tests.
    • Documenting processes and monitoring performance metrics.

     

     

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK
    • Experience in DevOps engineering practices
    • Knowledge and hands on experience in any programming language writing code and scripts.
    • Must have hands on Build tools like Maven and Gradle as well as on the Continuous Integration tools like GitHub/Git, Jenkins, SonarQube.
    • Knowledge of React JS
    • Ability to ensure smooth software deployment by writing script updates and running diagnostics.
    • Proficiency in documenting processes and monitoring performance metrics.

     

     

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

     

    • Knowledge of security standards/practices and tooling.
    • Ability to oversee and mentor junior software developers, as well as report to management.
    • Ability to install and configure software, gather test-stage data, and perform de-bugging.
    • Ability to ensure smooth software deployment by writing script updates and running diagnostics.
    • Proficiency in documenting processes and monitoring performance metrics.
    • Ability to keep up with software development trends and innovation.
    • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
