Digital Manufacturing Engineer

  • The Northern Ireland Technology Centre (NITC) an industry facing unit within the Faculty Office EPS at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint a Digital Manufacturing Engineer.

    The successful candidate will support Digital Manufacturing activities within the NITC, utilising specialist knowledge to generate innovative research outputs. 

    You will work on key projects that are focussed on the application of manufacturing simulation with academic staff, local industry and technology providers.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for a self-motivated team player who is passionate about applying innovative technology and make positive impact within our local economy and bring new technical benefits to manufacturing industry.

    You will also have the opportunity to work closely with our industry partners, utilising and enhancing your digital manufacturing knowledge to identify and virtually validate innovative and imaginative new production process developments, providing significant improvement opportunities to the industry

    The successful candidate must have and your CV/Cover letter should clearly demonstrate you have: 

    • Honours Degree, or equivalent, in related engineering discipline OR minimum HND in related engineering discipline with at least three years’ relevant experience.
    • Competent in the application of Digital Manufacturing simulation technology.
    • Strong evidence of complex problem solving skills obtained / relevant for industrial manufacturing problems. 
    • Experience of using research tools and techniques resulting in high quality project and technical reports.
    • Evidence of communicating complex technical information.
    • Evidence of leading and delivering on multifaceted projects within deadlines and budget, displaying strong resource management ability. 
    • Proven ability to work effectively unsupervised and / or as part of a wider team.

    Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
