    Your role in the team

     

     

    This role is a Senior Manager within the Core Services Engineering group within Compute Services. Specific delivery accountabilities including Mainframe Engineering and Production Control / Batch Processing. The Senior Manager of this group will need to drive multiple strategic priorities including: workforce planning, technical strategy, vendor management, financial discipline and project delivery. Focus will include driving a technical strategy to increase platform resiliency, optimize utilization and software expense while building a high performing environment for the Mainframe organization.

     

     

    • Develops ideas and team strategy that have long-term, strategic impact on area of responsibility and that align with Enterprise direction.  Responsible for initiating work and allocating resources necessary to implement strategy and achieve organizational goals
    • Measure processes and focus on continuous process improvements and automation to deliver services at a lower cost.   Manage processes to produce quality and eliminate risk of business impact from work done by the team.
    • Builds and maintains relationships with all levels of employees and effectively partner with others to delivery on accountabilities.
    • Models and creates an environment of accountability for their organization, peer groups and leaders by setting clear performance objectives in support of business outcomes.
    • Serves as a role model for personal development, incorporating 360-degree performance feedback. Maintains organizational focus on talent development
    • Budgetary responsibility for Mainframe platforms

     

     

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK'
    • 5+ years of management or senior technical leadership experience; should include accountability for all aspects of leading an organization including people processes, client/partner relationships, work processes and delivery of work products. 
    • Mainframe technical experience and expertise is a requirement. 
    • Core competencies must include Z/OS, CICS, Storage, Networking and Performance & Capacity Planning
