    Your role in the team

    We are looking for an experienced Developer with strong React JS skills to play key role within the Allstate Canada Broker Enablement team.  This is a global team which comprises members from Allstate Canada Group (ACG), Allstate Northern Ireland and Allstate India.  The team has responsibility for the development and support of a suite of applications supporting the Allstate Canada Broker body.

     

    One key area of development is the Broker Portal Web Application.  Brokers log into a portal where they can view and update policies.  The application has been built using .Net MVC and jQuery, and we are now designing future functionality using the ReactJS framework. 

     

    The team aligns to the Agile Scrum methodology.

     

    • Contribute to the design and implementation of technical solutions
    • Maintain code quality by defining and maintaining good development practices within the team
    • Conduct code reviews to ensure consistent adherence to standards and to make recommendations where necessary
    • Delivery of high-quality documentation as required
    • Promote good Agile working practices within the team
    • Work effectively with the Product Owner, Scrum Master, Technical Lead, Business Stakeholders and other technology teams in order to achieve success within agile delivery frameworks
    • Work with 3rd party vendors and external consultants
    • Mentor fellow team members
    • General support of fully integrated, highly available production environments
    • Analysis of information systems processes and monitoring of key performance metrics

     

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

    • All candidates must have the right to work in the UK
    • A minimum of 5+ years in a software development role with a minimum of 1 year in React
    • Full understanding of the SDLC, including programming and testing
    • Experience working in Agile (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, XP) environments
    • Experience with common development tools and practices (e.g. JUnit, GitHub, Jenkins); and
    • Experience of the following:
      • REACT JS
      • TDD

     

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

    • Previous technical lead experience
    • Have experience working in a global team
    • Experience of:
    • Java Spring Boot
    • RESTful WebAPI development
    • C# .Net Framework (4.x)
    • MVC .Net
    • SQL skills
    • CI/CD integration using Jenkins and related tools
    • Understanding of micro service architecture
    • Knowledge of security best practices, resolving vulnerabilities as a result of code scanning or penetration testing
