  Your role in the team

  The Answer Financial E-Business department defines and develops software product which support the company’s mission and strategy. We use an agile software development model to create solutions that include web sites, mobile applications, insurance marketing and distribution systems, insurance product provider integrations, and computer telephony integrations.

   

  • Provides input to manual and automation Quality Control estimates and work plan for medium complexity projects for the focused area of business
  • Reviews project deliverables produced during the project lifecycle to understand application changes, project scope and testing scope
  • Review business requirements for completeness, consistency, clarity, relevance, ambiguity, redundancy and testability
  • Provides input to test strategy plan for medium complexity projects
  • Decomposes business requirements and test scenarios to create effective test plans to cover the requirements leveraging the automation framework; improve test plan effectiveness based on production results
  • Participation in the Agile ceremonies: standups, planning, demos and retrospectives
  • Creates, maintains and validates test scripts based on pre-defined requirements; develops reusable test scripts to facilitate analysis and testing
  • Executes automated test scripts and validate requirements
  • Create or obtain test data based on pre-defined testing standards and realistic production data sampling
  • Perform data analysis of executed test plans to ensure accuracy of expected test results both at the user interface and back-end data levels
  • Identify and assess risks and issues and propose mitigation strategies
  • Participates in peer reviews to ensure automation deliverables adhere to standards
  • Responsible for defect identification, documentation, communication and following through to resolution according to the defect management process
  • Provides input to root cause analysis on assigned projects
  • Provides status for test automation tasks assigned
  • Learns and utilizes testing tools to support test manual and automation test functions

   

   

  So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

   

  • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a hands-on technical role within the Software Development Lifecyle
  • Knowledge and understanding of Web Services in relation to software testing
  • Demonstrable use of at least one Service testing tool e.g. SOAP UI, Ready API, Postman
  • Experience of writing test scripts 
  • Strong knowledge of manual and automated testing

   

   

  We also have some desirable criteria

   

  • Experience utilizing Continuous Integration tools (e.g. Jenkins)
  • Practical experience with at least one of the following areas: Java, JavaScript, C#, Selenium
  • Experience using test management tools (e.g. Jira – Zephyr)
  • Understanding of Puppeteer
