Senior Technical Architect
As a Senior Technical Architect, you will provide organisational and account level technical leadership and influence the technical direction of Liberty IT and our business partners.
The senior architects will be recognised as subject matter experts in our customer's domain and the driving force behind the evolution of our Engineering and Innovation disciplines. They have a deep appreciation for the Business direction and will be pre-emptively guiding our capabilities to ensure that Liberty IT remain differentiated.
As a leader in the Architecture team, you will set the technical strategy for Liberty IT and will partner with others architecture team’s execution of the plan to deliver on that strategy. You will provide coaching, mentoring, support and guidance to grow the next set of technical leaders in Liberty IT.
In this role, you will:
- Understand the whole Liberty IT and customer context for your area and trends and practices outside of our organisations and how these will benefit Liberty IT.
- Influencing the system architecture of your area of responsibility
- Shape and influence Liberty IT Organisational/Account and our customer's Departmental strategy. You will own and be responsible for setting technical strategies, patterns, standards, policies and roadmaps.
- Make, guide and justify decisions characterized by high levels of risk, impact and complexity. You will build consensus between various groups or highly independent and diverse stakeholders.
- Network and communicate with senior stakeholders and proactively seek out opportunities for digital transformation
- Provide executive influence and sponsorship to architecture/engineering direction and innovation across the enterprise.
- Support multiple teams, finding and using best practice and emerging technologies
- Inspire other architects and technical leaders and help them understand how to deliver the goals of the organisation, account and unit
- Set standards as appropriate for Engineering Excellence, optimizing the application of technology across the organization.
- Share expertise and mentor engineering community, ensuring that teams are continuously improving and learning together to meet current and future engineering needs. Remain hands-on with engineering activities and is deeply embedded in the role of technology
- Provide technical leadership and drive the development of strategic and complex enterprise products or systems involving future facing technologies and platforms. Actively design, code and test components as part of delivery.
- Partner with Product Owners, other architects and engineering teams to align the technical design and strategy with the product roadmap.
- Investigate and prototype complex, cross platform business solutions to validate newer technologies. Make recommendations on emerging technological solutions to increase market share and reduce operational costs.
- Participate, and lead when required, on selected enterprise projects and communities, working closely with architects in Liberty IT and our customers.
- Consult with the organisation to ensure systems and architecture align and identify when it’s necessary to modify the technical solution to accommodate project and/or strategic needs.
- Review and ensure Well-Architectured principles are adhered to.
- Conduct, advise, consult, and participate in executive meetings and planning sessions with business and technology leadership.
- Provide leadership direction for enterprise cross-portfolio, cross-functional architectures that align with overall technology portfolio vision.
- Share engineering knowledge and expertise across the organization and industry through networks, events and communities of practice. Demonstrated through publication and speaking engagements, patent applications or other indicators of external industry recognition of expertise.

Essential Criteria
- A third level degree in an Information Technology or Computer Science related field.
- A minimum of 5 years’ overall experience at a senior level and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in an Architect role.
- Expertise to providing technical direction in the delivery of software in a complex, multi-platform distributed environment.
- In-depth knowledge and exposure to cloud native technologies; either AWS or Azure.
- Extensive experience in building multi-region applications and solutions using a range of programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python and/or .Net.
- Proven technical leadership experience in delivering complex solutions and designs using multiple technologies and processing environments.
- Extensive knowledge of all components of technical architecture, proficient in new and emerging technologies.
- Exposure to layered solutions and designs, diverse technical configurations, multiple technologies and processing environments. Thorough knowledge of all components of holistic enterprise architecture.
- Extensive knowledge of all product and system components of technical architecture.
- In-depth knowledge of business operations, objectives and strategies; in-depth understanding of global business and technology trends and the financial services industry.
- Strong evidence of influencing and consensus building skills, and the adaptability to respond to change quickly.
