  The Role

  We are looking for a talented and passionate Sr Software engineer who is interested in joining our Operations Platform engineering team.  In this role, you’ll be tasked with driving relentless improvements and innovation to contribute in the processes, performance and scalability of our applications and systems.  Working in collaboration with other members of the Operations and product development teams, you as part of the infrastructure engineering team builds the fundamental tooling and automation that lets our SREs manage tens of thousands of production systems with a small, nimble team that has a really big impact.  Defining and building the technology required for the business to operate efficiently. We create tools that make it easy to build robust continuous deployment solutions, deploy and manage all your services running in production, and more. We do all this by working with fun, sharp, supportive people who make it fun to come to work every day.

  Your day-to-day

  • Identify and recommend new tools that will automate/streamline existing tools and processes
  • Analyze, scope, and document new tool requirement in accordance with standards
  • Launch new tools and provide ongoing monitoring and support
  • Code review team member’s changes
  • Communication and coordination with Development, QA, and user-base
  • Ongoing support of existing production tool systems and infrastructure
  • Triage and resolve immediate production impacting issues

  What you bring to the team

  • Extensive experience in software development, preferably developing tools for large scale Unix infrastructure management
  • Excellent programming skills; a fundamental understanding of what makes clear, maintainable and extensible code
  • Must be able to work with an existing codebase and improvement
  • Ability to work across teams, to shepherd something from code to product
  • Familiarity with SOAP/REST APIs, JavaScript, JSON, MySQL
  • Strong in one or more programming language, GoLang, Node, Python, Java
  • Experience working with Cloud providers like AWS or Azure
  • Strong working knowledge and experience in UNIX/LINUX environments
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to independently prioritize day-to-day tasks
  • Experience with configuration managing automation tools like Puppet/Chef
  • BS in Computer Science or relevant work experience
