How you'll support our mission!
ESO is seeking an Associate Cloud Operations Engineer to join our Cloud Operations team. As a member of the Cloud Operations team, you serve as a steward for the infrastructure and services that power ESO’s suite of products. These products are delivered using Microsoft Azure Cloud Services, and you support our mission by:
- Ensuring that the environments behind our products and services are secure, stable, and available to our customers.
- Supporting your colleagues who depend on and leverage Azure services and our engineering environments to deliver our products & services.
Reporting to the Cloud Operations Manager you will be part of our Engineering team based in our Belfast Office.
What you’ll be doing: The day-to-day:
- Triage inbound service requests and complete assigned work within expected timelines.
- Monitor and respond to system and infrastructure alerts.
- Solve technical issues & assist in determining the root causes of problems.
- Remediate systems vulnerabilities and meet cyber security compliance standards.
- Write and review documentation used for sustaining our operations.
- Be open to learning, taking on challenges and adapting to change.

Who You Are - some of the essential things required to be successful in the role:
- 2+ years in an operational/cloud role (Azure, AWS, GSP).
- Experience with Windows and/or Linux system administration.
Who You Are – it’s desirable if you have some of the following experience:
- Experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum/Kanban).
- Scripting & automation experience.
- Exposure to CI/CD tech stacks such as Terraform, Ansible and Azure DevOps.
