IT Test Manager - Credit Risk

    Team Background

    The Derivatives Credit Risk Technology Team is responsible for delivering Counterparty Credit Risk Management software solutions to Citi’s Risk organization which manages Citi’s exposure to financial institutions, governments and corporates that trade with Citi. The team builds and maintains software used to compute metrics that help mitigate Citi’s exposure to counterparty default. The solutions include consumption of trades, collateral, market data, counterparty and security reference data from over 50 sources, and the computation of optimal margin allocation for portfolios and trades, haircut for security and cash collateral, trade and collateral liquidity, collateral concentration levels and wrong way risk, amongst others that feed into the computation of Pre-Settlement Risk (PSE), Settlement Risk, Exposure at Default (EAD) and Risk Weighted Assets (RWA).
     

    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate effectively with a large global team of software engineers, business analysts, and Risk managers and arrange for end-to-end testing of the software to deliver quality solutions to the business.
    • Manage expectations of various stakeholder groups and end ensure the delivery of software within committed timeline by executing the planned test runs in timely and organised manner.
    • Develops and designs standards and procedures, ensures that they are adhered to throughout the software development life cycle.
    • Strives for continuous improvements and streamlining of testing processes across the Derivatives credit risk area.
    • Manage the test and impact analysis requirements, plan and execute the test runs to provide Credit Risk reports to risk managers and Business Analysts.
    • Ensures consistency and quality of processes across projects.
    • Deals with complex and highly variable issues.
    • Manages one or more testing teams .Serve as advisor or coach to junior/new team members and to help creating strong testing team.
    • Exhibits in-depth understanding of concepts and procedures within Derivatives area and basic knowledge of dependant systems.
    • Manages organizational process change.
    • Appropriately assess risk when decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

     

    Competencies

    • Significant experience in IT industry and substantial experience in IT project or Test management or experience leading large scale transformational, global change.
    • Experience or knowledge in financial sector or Counterparty Credit Risk is added advantage.  
    • In-depth understanding of Systems Development Life Cycle processes and end-to-end testing processes
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively in a large global team and an ability to persuade and influence.
    • Ability to work well under pressure.
    • Experience in supervise day-to-day staff management, work allocation mentoring/coaching.
    • Knowledge in RDBMS and Unix. Experience in working with Java is added advantage.

     

    Qualifications/Education

    • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience. Master's degree an advantage.
    • Graduate in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) discipline. Master’s degree an advantage.
