    Role Overview:

    The Software Development Engineer in Test is a developing professional role. Deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices.

    Good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the sub function/ job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information.

    Typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact. Applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information.

    Moderate but direct impact through close contact with the businesses' core activities. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Supports initiatives related to User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process and product rollout into production. Testing specialists who work with technology project managers, UAT professionals and users to design and implement appropriate scripts/plans for an application testing strategy/approach.

    • Conducts a variety of process monitoring, product evaluation and audit assignments.

    • Documents findings and prepares nonconformance reports.

    • Tracks nonconformance items and ensures items are resolved before project moves to production.

    • Creates and maintains testing verification matrices.

    • Gathers, maintains and reports on quality metrics.

    • Verifies traceability in project work products.

    • Exhibits good understanding of procedures and concepts within own technical area and a basic knowledge of these elements in other areas.

    • Makes evaluative judgments based on the analysis of factual information; resolves problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and guided by precedents.

    • Has limited but direct impact on the team and closely related teams through the quality of the tasks services provided.

    • Exchanges ideas and information in a concise and logical way; recognizes audience diversity.

    • Perform other duties and functions as assigned.

    • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

     

    Qualifications:

    • Relevant experience in automation testing with Hands on experience in automation tools such as Selenium, Java , Cucumber.

    • Exposure to both functional and non-functional testing, manual and automation testing preferable in banking and financial domain.

    • Create automation  test plans, test cases,  scenarios & ensuring quality assurance for software development projects in various stages & managing process control as per standards.

    • QA Experience in defining, designing & executing test cases

    • Exposure on functional Test Automation & hybrid, keyword-driven, data-driven, Behavior Driven automation frameworks.

    • High level of programming and SQL skills e.g. Java/.NET, python, development in Linux environment (shell scripting)

    • Stay abreast of latest Test Automation, Automation tools and frameworks and also, with new trends, Open Source, Continuous Integration & Continuous Development (CI & CD such as  Jenkins, UDeploy, BitBucket, JIRA, TeamCity, SonarCube) .

    • Analyze test cases thoroughly to ensure adequate coverage of requirements.

    • Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts for requirement/user story validation, integration, regression, performance and usability testing.

    • Good understanding of project management principles and familiarity in different development & testing methodologies. 

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build and deliver powerful presentations to ensure QA vision is understood and implemented correctly. 

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment with minimal supervision.

    • Ability to organize and track overlapping tasks and assignments, with frequent priority changes.

    • Good team player with the ability to lead, manage and work independently in a timely sensitive environment. 

    • Ability to coordinate with the stakeholders globally for testing activities.

    • Experience in handling mission critical requirements at short notice particularly in the regulatory space.

    • Experience in managing end to end project life cycle using industry standard methodologies.

    • Handing end to end project lifecycle from requirements to testing & post production assistance

    • Create, manage and own testing documentation in Confluence and JIRA project repositories.

    • Track QA metrics, estimate work and generate reports for management reporting

    • Well versed with Zephyr in Jira for managing test plans, environment specific test cycles and strategies for enterprise applications.
