    We’re looking for a Platform Lead to join the ASOS technology team and lead and own the design, development, and operations of a platform within the wider ASOS technology landscape.

    Job Description

    • Delivery: Lead the delivery of Commercial Integration, a critical area of the Commercial Technology department. Coordinate across other tech teams and lead delivery in cross team dependencies and hand-offs.
    • Planning: Shape, own and be accountable for all elements of the delivery plan for Commercial Integration.
    • Scoping: Manage the gathering of requirements ensuring that all the work of the deliverable is included. Manage change control in line with appropriate processes.
    • Financial Management: Plan, estimate, and control costs so that the deliverables can be completed within the approved budget. Manage Statements of Work, Purchase Orders and time sheeting in line with contracts and ASOS policy. Proactively seek opportunities for cost efficiency
    • Stakeholder Management: Represent the deliverable in discussions with the relevant Commercial and Tech Directors, Senior Programme Leads, and project stakeholders. Use the appropriate channels (formal and informal) and language (technical/non-technical) to ensure that stakeholders always feel up to date with progress, issues, and risks
    • Quality Management: Ensure the result of a deliverable meets the needs for which it was intended; includes quality planning, assurance, and control. Look to continuously improve the software development process including testing, build, deployment and code quality
    • Resource and Team Management: Organise and manage the team in consultation with others; including defining roles within a team structure and ways of working to ensure deliverables are met and the ongoing running of the platform is achieved. Work with other teams to secure required resources where required.
    • Risk and Issue Management: Identify and assess risks, implement mitigating actions where relevant. Identify and assess issues and implement ways to resolve.
    • Supplier Management: Performance manage the 3rd Party Service providers to meet SLA and contract obligations as well as the quality of their deliverables
    • Service Operations: Hold operational accountability for Commercial Integration, being the primary management escalation and ensure the Platform is able to meet its service requirements to support the business. Ensure all aspects of the platform are addressed including scalability, security, maintainability, and supportability. Drive the day-to-day operations, monitoring and maintenance of the platform to ensure a reliable, predictable, and efficient service
    • Control & Shape: Monitor and control deliverable outcomes using key indicators (risks, issues, milestones, velocity etc). Take appropriate management action and escalate where appropriate. Shape and define, with the input of others, the platform roadmap to meet both business and technology objectives maximising the benefits for ASOS

    Qualifications
    You’re an experienced Technology Delivery or Project Manager with a keen interest in software delivery and you’re looking for an established business that’s still dynamic enough that you can implement your own ideas. You’ll:

    • Desire to actively contribute to the culture of being Authentic, Brave, Creative and Disciplined
    • Have flexibility in leadership style dependant on the situation and audience
    • Enjoy working with others cross functionally, developing teamwork and collaboration
    • Have experience running a team with line management responsibilities
    • Have worked in a Software Engineering environment
    • Have run support teams or teams with operational accountabilities
    • Experience working in a large-scale integration environment and an understanding in one or more of: Azure, Mulesoft, Integration development principles, APIs, buying and merchandising data structures
    • Experience leading both internal and external development teams including development teams offshore
    • Have experience managing third parties
    • Strong financial/budget management experience
    • Be a great people person with excellent communication skills
    • Take a mature approach to change and respond positively
