We promote pathways and careers to future IT professionals, from primary school pupils through to people considering a career change.
At Bring IT On we seek to showcase the opportunities and benefits of careers in IT and raise awareness on the great diversity of options in this exciting, ever changing sector.
We run events, speak at schools, attend job fairs and work with employers, careers and IT teachers, parents and carers to raise awareness of the opportunities available in IT. We work to build links with IT employers through our Bring IT On Ambassadors programme, which gives teachers, careers advisors and new entrants to the sector access to industry expertise and mentoring. less
Bring IT On was formed to address the skills shortage and employability issues within the IT sector in Northern Ireland. Our mission is to ensure that IT companies have an ongoing pipeline of skilled talent fit for industry needs. Bring IT On showcases the opportunities and benefits of careers in IT for students and new entrants by raising awareness on the diverse career options in this exciting and ever-changing sector.
The programme focuses its activities over a number of key areas: -
Influencing new entrants to the industry – We do this through the delivery of interactive workshops to primary schools & post primary schools in NI as well as the provision of literature to students to encourage industry uptake.
Regional activity with other NI Colleges and Universities through the Digital Hub – Bring IT On works in partnership across the sector to ensure we are reaching as wide and diverse an audience as possible across Northern Ireland.
Delivery of events for underrepresented groups – We work with a range of underrepresented groups to run events throughout the year, including events for; career changers, people with additional neurodiverse needs as well as women.
Working with key influencers in a new entrant’s journey – We work with teachers, careers advisors, parents and carers to provide information on career opportunities and progression pathways through literature, training and dedicated events.
Working with I.T Employers – We work with IT employers in Northern Ireland to connect them with schools and provide industry insight through the Bring IT On Ambassador initiative.
Marketing and Events – We work to deliver our messaging through our website and social media campaigns as well as attending and participating in other school and industry events throughout the year.
