Call for engineers in Roe Valley area to join Manufacturing NI education project

  • Manufacturing Northern Ireland are on the hunt for engineers to come forward to inspire the next generation of students to consider careers in STEM.

The free programme will help give engineers leadership skills, including multimedia masterclasses and 1-1 mentoring to help create online content, and will help equip them to learn about diversity, nature and impact of engineering.

This will also be an excellent opportunity for companies to develop links with students in the Roe Valley Learning area, promoting opportunities, as well as developing spokespeople who will be able to communicate about the company, cutting edge areas of interest and showcase the strengths of the Northern Irish manufacturing sector.

Throughout Autumn 2021, students from local secondary schools in the Roe Valley Network will be able to learn about the diversity, nature and impact of engineering.

Mary Meehan, Deputy CEO at Manufacturing NI, said: “With all the recent advances in digital technology, we want to inspire the next generation on the exciting roles that there are in engineering.”

Mary Meehan also stated: “We are able to dedicate resources into bringing industry and academia closer and provide opportunities for engineers to engage with members of the public from groups currently underrepresented in engineering."
