Local cyber-security firm MetaCompliance recognised in Gartner's Magic Quadrant report

  • Derry-based cyber-security training company MetaCompliance has been recognised by Gartner as a key niche player in the global cyber-security industry.

Northern Ireland's cyber-security industry is growing at a record pace, with local firms in the field competing successfully on a national and global level. For the first time, a local cyber-security firm was recognised this month as one of the key firms in the Security Awareness Computer-Based Training market by Gartner, who named the firm as a "Niche Player" in its July 2019 Magic Quadrant report.

Based in Derry's Old City Factory, MetaCompliance has been developing training content for the cyber-security industry since 2005. The firm's cloud-based training platform provides a unified solution for managing staff awareness and compliance of cyber-security issues. Its approach combines e-learning, simulated phishing, policy management software, and staff training software in one place.

Gartner provides in-depth research reporting and analysis across the business and tech world globally, and its 2019 Magic Quadrant analysis report seeks to identify those companies that are world leaders, visionaries, niche players, or upcoming challengers in various industries. Those included in the analysis are evaluated based on completeness of vision and ability to execute, with MetaCompliance listed alongside market leaders such as Proofpoint.

The company was recognised for its complete multi lingual suite of software solutions that allows organisations to create their own customised cyber-security training from MetaCompliance's extensive e-learning library. Users can access a wide range of short, engaging videos and courses on specific topics and explore realistic scenarios they might encounter in their work.

Robert O’Brien, CEO of MetaCompliance, said: "To us, it’s a huge honour to be positioned in Gartner’s 2019 Magic Quadrant for Security Awareness Computer-Based Training. Our solution differs from traditional training solutions, through our ability to deliver an annual campaign that leverages multiple interactions with employees, such as phishing, policies, surveys and training, all from a single platform. This means we can gather the necessary audit information to satisfy governance and compliance requirements for auditors and regulators."
