Northern Ireland's first dedicated e-commerce conference is happening today

  • Northern Ireland's first dedicated e-commerce conference, eComm Live, is taking place today at the Life Church centre in Belfast City Centre.

We heard about eComm Live back in March when the ambitious new dedicated e-commerce conference announced its list of speakers. The event took place today at the Life Church Events Centre in Belfast City Centre, with over 100 local businesses in attendance to hear more about how investing in e-commerce can seriously pay off.

The event includes speakers from a variety of online retailers and digital agencies specialising in e-commerce, and its aim is to help local retail-based businesses to see the growth in both local and international markets they can achieve with an effective online presence.

Speakers who shared their experiences include Paul Stewart, the founder of shipping firm Uni Baggage that recently rebranded as MyBaggage.com to better place itself in the market.

Organiser Kevin Traynor, spoke of the importance of having a dedicated event for e-commerce, saying: "With so many aspects of our daily lives moving online, including shopping, eComm Live 2019 is an important event to bring to Belfast to highlight the online opportunities there are for Northern Irish businesses. It is estimated that ecommerce revenues hit £69bn in the UK last year and we want to see more local businesses getting a share of that."
