Invent 2019 competition semi-finalist list announced

  • The 24 semi-finalists have been selected for this year's Invent competition, with finalist selection to take place at an event later this month.

Catalyst’s annual Invent competition sponsored by Bank of Ireland UK highlights local businesses that demonstrate innovation in their fields and can prove commercial viability of a new idea. The event serves as a showcase for emerging Northern Ireland tech and business innovations to increase their visibility and comes with a £33,000 prize fund split between the winners.

Over 100 companies applied to the competition this year, and Catalyst has whittled the running down to just 24 semi-finalists. The list of those still in the competition includes several recent innovations that we've spotlighted, including the location-based Deals In Places app and the impressive cost-cutting agricultural app Cropsafe.

The 24 finalists will move on to a showcase event at ICC Belfast Waterfront Hall Studio on 23rd May 2019, where each team will be given 3 minutes to pitch its innovation to a panel of expert judges and a live audience. You can sign up to attend the event to see the pitches and for an opportunity to speak to the semi-finalists and network with other attendees before pitching begins.
