Northern Irish recycling machinery firm Kiverco has landed a major deal to export equipment to Italy, where it will be used to recycle debris from a 2016 earthquake.A powerful earthquake hit Italy's Umbria region back in 2016, leaving large volumes of rubble that had to be cleared away. Now Northern Irish company Kiverco is exporting some of its mobile recycling machinery to the region to recycle the rubble into useful building materials. The sale is part of a massive six-figure deal and was the result of an Invest NI trade mission to Italy by several local businesses.
Kiverco designs and manufactures recycling plants for processing a variety of different waste streams, and this export deal is its first deal in Italy. The company has worked with Invest Northern Ireland over a number of years focusing on new export markets and embedding quality control standards in its products, increasing sales capability and skills development.
Kiverco's Managing Director, Anne McKiver spoke positively about the deal and Invest NI's assistance: "We are constantly looking for business opportunities across the globe for our equipment. Invest NI’s trade team has supported us to make several export market visits to Italy where we are now growing our business. It is now producing results with our first sale in Italy.”
