Deloitte announced today that it will be setting up a new Northern Ireland head office in Belfast's upcoming £85m Bedford Square development, providing a central location for 1,000 employees.
The past few years have seen massive investment in Northern Ireland's business office space, with some of Northern Ireland's largest companies moving into new multi-million-pound office developments and refurbished spaces. Today Deloitte announced that it's selected the upcoming Bedford Square office development as the location for its new Northern Ireland head office
Deloitte will become the anchor tennant in the new development, which will allow it to consolidate all of its Belfast staff into one space that will support over 1,000 staff. Bedford Square is an £85m refurbishment on Bedford Street that includes the historic Ewart Warehouse, and is being developed by McAleer & Rushe to produce 213,000 sq ft of Grade A office space with space for up to 2,000 staff.
The office is expected to be ready to move into by 2021 and will accommodate all of Deloitte’s core business areas of audits, tax, and consulting. It will also contain a new state-of-the-art Deloitte Digital and Greenhouse space. Jackie Henry, senior partner at Deloitte Belfast, spoke positively about the move: "It is a symbol of Deloitte’s commitment to this city that we have chosen a development which will breathe life back into one of Belfast’s beautiful but neglected heritage buildings."
