LQ BID has launched the Linen Live Reward Card - a new discount scheme designed to bring value to thousands of employees across the Linen Quarter, whilst also driving footfall across the district’s diverse hospitality, retail, wellness, and childcare offerings. Modelled on successful employee engagement schemes operating across Great Britain, including those delivered by Liverpool BID Company and London Heritage Quarter BID, the Reward Card highlights that by incentivising the local workforce, benefits can be delivered for the high street.
The Reward Card will provide meaningful supports such as 10 per cent off childcare services at Puddleducks Day Nursery, which could be worth savings of up to £350 for parents working in the Linen Quarter. Value Car Park at Grosvenor Road will support the workforce’s commute with a 10 per cent reduction on parking.
Further incentives have been created across the Linen Quarter’s hospitality hotspots to support people to spend more time enjoying the social aspect of the district, including 20 per cent off The Shed Grill, 15 per cent off POMO Restaurant at voco Belfast, The Fitzwilliam Hotel, and The Linen Hall Bar, 10 per cent off at Fratelli, and a free drink or dessert at The Dep.

Meanwhile Vita Wellness, which blends medical expertise with spa-inspired experiences, is offering 10 per cent discounts on a range of mental health and workplace wellbeing workshops, whilst ACCA Longevity Clinic, which offers emerging therapies such as cryotherapy and red-light therapy, is also offering 10 per cent off its treatments.
Chris McCracken, Managing Director of LQ BID said, “The Linen Live Reward Card builds on our existing employee discount scheme, with the addition of 13 new participating venues and businesses and much scope for growth. Employee discount schemes in other regions have been proven to re-engage office workers and deliver visible value for participating businesses, where employee-only offers often rank as one of the highest-value BID interventions in members surveys where they are employed. We’re excited about the potential the scheme will deliver for both consumers and businesses, while also strengthening the vibrancy of the Linen Quarter.”
Fratelli’s Whitney Rowan explained how important the midweek community of employees is to business. She said, “We’re proud of our home here in the Linen Quarter – an area where business and pleasure meet. Midweek footfall is crucial to the success of our business, so the Linen Live Reward Card is a positive for us. It’s about adding value to the district as opposed to cheapening our offer.”
The Linen Live Reward Card was unveiled at LQ BID’s AGM, which was held at The Europa Hotel this week. The event marked a record year of delivery against LQ BID’s 5 year-business plan, with 90 per cent of projects now complete or underway at the end of year 3, acting as a reminder on how LQ BID adds value to Belfast City Centre by investing in public realm improvements, creating a greater sense of community, and providing business support programmes to its members.
At the event, it was revealed that LQ BID has appointed a new Chair, Eamon Butler from Kainos, alongside four new Board members to help advance its strategic vision. The board members are Rajesh Rana, Director of Andras House, Emma O'Kane, Community Operations Lead at Ormeau Labs, Craig Gregory, Head of Office Facilities at FintrU, and David Wright, Director at CBRE NI.
Since its inception in 2018, the BID has delivered £5 million worth of improvements across more than 50 projects. This includes "Great Expectations" - a £500,000 investment that refreshed Great Victoria Street and Dublin Road with deep cleans, security features, street art, planting, and a renewed green space at Bankmore Square. After 25 years of dereliction and decline the area now has three major building projects in construction, with a further five planned.
Chris continued, “The Linen Quarter has evolved significantly in recent years through continued investment, collaboration and placemaking. We need to think imaginatively to restore economic vitality to Belfast – the city is not without its challenges, but with continued investment we can unlock its full potential. We deliver pioneering improvements across the Linen Quarter that bring the people who work, live and socialise here greater enjoyment, improved wellbeing, and a sense of belonging.”

Chair of LQ BID Eamon Butler said, “We are delighted to welcome four new members to the board. The wealth of expertise now present marks an exciting new chapter. Their strategic vision, commercial acumen and their networks will help the BID bring continued value to over 350 constituent organisations and build on the strong foundations already in place with city decision makers ensuring the Linen Quarter remains a thriving hub for business, culture, and investment. We’d also like to extend our sincere gratitude to our outgoing board members, their continued support has been invaluable.”
The historic Linen Quarter, the area stretching from City Hall to Shaftesbury Square, is home to more than 350 organisations such as Deloitte, Invest NI and various government departments, with Kainos’ 14-storey office block currently under construction on the Dublin Road. It is rapidly becoming one of the most vibrant and diverse areas of the city, home to around 25 per cent of all hotel beds across Northern Ireland, and a thriving hospitality scene.
