Turley Legal Acquires Historic Limavady Firm Martin King French & Ingram

  • Coleraine-based Turley Legal has announced the acquisition of Martin King French & Ingram, one of Ireland’s oldest law practices, in a landmark move that combines centuries of trusted legal heritage with a modern, forward-looking legal service.

The deal marks a significant milestone for Turley Legal as it expands its geographic footprint into Limavady, strengthening its presence across the North West and complementing its existing offices in Coleraine and Belfast. It also broadens the firm’s service offering, enhancing its ability to support clients in residential property, private client and personal legal matters alongside its established corporate and commercial expertise.

Founded in 1781, Martin King French & Ingram has served generations of families, businesses and communities across the Roe Valley and beyond. John Turley, Managing Director of Turley Legal, commented on the acquisition. He said, “This is a hugely important and exciting step for our firm. Martin King French & Ingram has an exceptional reputation and a remarkable history dating back 250 years. We have enormous respect for the trust the firm has built within the Limavady community over many generations.

Our priority is to preserve that legacy while investing in the future of the practice. Existing clients can be assured that they will continue to receive the personal, high-quality service they know and trust, now supported by the wider resources, expertise and technology of Turley Legal.”

The acquisition will increase the combined business’s total staff to 21, including the existing solicitors and support staff based in Limavady and eight solicitors operating from the Coleraine office. This expanded team will enhance the range of services available to clients and establish one of the largest locally owned legal practices in the wider North West region

Keith Leighton of Martin King French & Ingram said, “Martin King French & Ingram has been part of the fabric of Limavady for centuries, and it was very important to us to find the right successor for the firm, our clients and our people.

Turley Legal shares our values of professionalism, client care and community commitment. This transaction ensures continuity for clients while creating new opportunities for the practice to grow and modernise in the years ahead.”

Turley Legal has also outlined plans for continued investment in systems, processes and client experience as part of the transition, ensuring the historic practice is well positioned for the future while retaining the personal relationships at the heart of its success.
