Cookstown-based audio-visual specialists Rea Sound AV has achieved an extraordinary double victory at the UK AV Awards 2025, becoming the first company from Ireland to win in two categories at the UK’s most prestigious celebration of excellence in audio-visual design, integration, and innovation.
The awards were held at London’s Evolution venue before an audience of more than 1,400 industry leaders, recognised Rea Sound AV’s transformational work with Mid Ulster District Council and McConnell’s Distillery in Belfast.
Competing against global projects from Europe, the USA, and Asia, Rea Sound AV triumphed in both the Public Sector Project of the Year and Corporate Project of the Year categories, marking an historic milestone for the local business, underpinning their growing reputation for world-class AV innovation.

Rea Sound AV’s project for Mid Ulster District Council redefined how council meetings are conducted through a cutting-edge, fully integrated discussion and meeting system. The bespoke solution simplifies complex processes such as hybrid meetings, voting, and live streaming, while enabling a modern, paperless workflow that boosts efficiency and collaboration.
“This project has completely transformed how council meetings are run,” said Roger McMullan, Director at Rea Sound AV. “We’ve made something incredibly complex feel seamless and intuitive, allowing councillors to focus on decision-making rather than technology.”
Recognising the exceptional innovation, resourcefulness, professionalism, and deep understanding of the client’s needs, judges praised Rea Sound’s ability to deliver a seamlessly integrated, future-ready meeting space that met the Council’s exacting requirements while enhancing functionality, user experience, and long-term value.
In Belfast, Rea Sound AV partnered with McConnell’s Distillery to create a world-class visitor experience that fuses history, storytelling, and brand engagement. The advanced system enables multiple simultaneous tours, enhancing visitor capacity and tourism opportunities while offering immersive visuals, wireless control, and intuitive operation for staff.
“McConnell’s wanted an experience that was as engaging as it was reliable,” explained Roger. “The AV solution we designed elevates their story in a way that’s immersive, flexible, and future-ready - a perfect example of how technology can drive brand impact.”
Judges highlighted the outstanding technical excellence and innovation within the uniquely challenging setting of a Grade A listed former prison, crediting Rea Sound for its role in transforming the historic site into a world-class visitor experience.
“To be the only company from Ireland recognised in two categories at this level is a huge honour,” added Roger. “It proves that cutting-edge solutions are being designed and delivered right here in Ireland for clients across government, tourism, and beyond.”
Rea Sound AV’s double win cements its status as a leader in innovative, high-performance AV solutions, and a proud ambassador for Irish expertise on the global stage.
