IMI (Irish Management Institute), a centre of excellence for management education, has been successful in winning a recent tender with Invest NI, the economic development agency for Northern Ireland. IMI will work with Invest NI to deliver their Leadership Team and Leading within a Group programmes. These programmes aim to strengthen the capabilities of senior leaders in Northern Ireland, enhancing strategic focus and business competitiveness.
The contract will deliver two executive education programmes designed to advance the leadership and management capabilities of senior business leaders across Northern Ireland. The ambition of the initiative is to enhance the leadership skills of more than 250 senior decision makers across a range of industries, which can in turn improve organisational efficiency, innovation, and growth. The programmes will also help to accelerate progress to the ambitious vision for transformation in innovation, growth and sustainability across the Northern Ireland economy by 2030.
IMI conducted a Leadership Barometer that reveals a skills shortage among business leaders in Ireland amid a shifting business environment and the emergence of disruptive new technologies. More than 3 in 10 leaders (36%) have identified a lack of capabilities to drive change as an obstacle to embracing the potential of innovation in their organisation.
Shane O’Sullivan, CEO of the IMI, said: “With rapid advancements in technology, new ways of working and continued economic volatility, senior leaders across the island of Ireland are facing a fast-evolving set of business challenges. It is crucial that decision makers continue to advance their capabilities to successfully navigate this shifting environment.
“With a distinguished track record of working with state agencies in Ireland to enhance business competitiveness, we’re proud to be working with Invest NI to support the needs of their clients and help to support the strategic vision for the economy in Northern Ireland.
