Jordan McDonald assumes the role of Director of Data Science & AI Strategy at Analytics Engines, marking a strategic appointment during a period when the company is growing from strength to strength as a pivotal player in the Data and AI sector.
Jordan has shown exemplary technical acumen and visionary leadership qualities since his arrival in 2023. He has been a core influence in the direction of travel for the company over the past year where the company has seen significant opportunities on the horizon due to its highly regarded reputation in the AI space. In his new role, Jordan will be an integral part of the Leadership team in driving the company to the next stage of growth.
We spoke briefly with Jordan about his new role and vision for Analytics Engines:
How has the past year been at Analytics Engines?
As I reflect on my current tenure at Analytics Engines, I am inspired by how the company cultivates an environment of creativity, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and a shared passion for unlocking the transformative value of Data & AI for our clients. We have made remarkable strides in enhancing our offerings, driving our technical capabilities (particularly around Generative AI and Large Language Models) and expanding into new markets and vertical industries.
Personally, the organisation has been a potent catalyst for growth, with my role actively contributing horizontally across all areas of the business—from leading the delivery of our Data Science and AI projects, whilst also supporting our commercial and marketing teams.

Where do you see the company going over the next couple of years?
Over the next couple of years, I envision Analytics Engines building on the incredible enthusiasm and demand for AI solutions across industries. With our proven expertise in data and AI we are uniquely positioned to help organisations harness the transformative power of AI responsibly and effectively.
The excitement sparked by advances like ChatGPT has opened eyes to the vast potential of AI. However, successful AI implementation requires robust data capabilities and a 360-degree approach that embeds governance and ethics from the ground up. This is where Analytics Engines can truly shine as a trusted partner.
I see Analytics Engines expanding into new markets and sector verticals, leveraging our end-to-end data and AI proficiencies to build intelligent systems that drive operational excellence, enhance decision-making, and unlock value from data for our clients.
What are your goals for your new role at the company?
I aim to continue to enhance Analytics Engines' position as a trailblazer in the Data & AI space. We have already established a strong reputation for embracing cutting-edge technologies, but I intend to take our innovation strategy to new heights. By closely collaborating with our technology leaders, we will proactively scan the horizon for emerging trends and breakthroughs, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of Data & AI developments.
I will continue to drive the go-to-market approach for the delivery of Panoramic AI - our proprietary and modular framework. This methodology combines customisable AI services with powerful AI accelerators to create personalised AI journeys tailored to each of our client's unique needs.
This will also be used to support our clients in unlocking the full potential of their data, driving real and measurable results. Additionally, I will work closely with our commercial leadership team to orient our Data & AI offerings towards new sectors, with a global aspiration, allowing us to continue to delight both our existing and new clients.
What gets you excited in the Data & AI space?
The Data & AI landscape is rapidly evolving, characterised by frequent breakthroughs and innovations that continually reshape the field. A key standpoint in this evolution is the Large Language Model, the current poster boy in AI technology. The concept of Generative AI isn't new, but recent advancements have significantly enhanced its capabilities. Additionally, the development of tools around this technology has streamlined both experimentation and adoption processes. Looking to the future, multi-modal AI capabilities, like those offered by GPT4-V and its variants, both open and closed source, are poised to revolutionise hybrid textual and visual business workflows.
Moreover, there is a notable shift in how organisations approach AI adoption. Companies are increasingly thoughtful about their use of AI, focusing on using the technology judiciously rather than as a one-size-fits-all solution. This mature approach extends to prioritising data governance and quality, as well as considering the ethical implications of their technological choices.
