Local best performing companies take centre stage at Titanic Belfast

  • Leading organisations from advanced manufacturing, housing and the hospitality sectors are set to take centre-stage this month at Titanic Belfast in a conference which both celebrates and examines what makes local high-performing companies tick.

This event, which takes place from 10am to 4pm on Wednesday March 13 will provide delegates with “practical insights from our best-performing companies on critical performance areas where they lead the field.”

Organised by the Centre for Competitiveness and supported by Balcas, Belfast Harbour, Bombardier, Fasthouse and NIE Networks the programme will see multi-award winners such as Denroy, Titanic Belfast, Slieve Russell and Young Enterprise Northern Ireland present on areas ranging from supply chain excellence, customer experience, people development to innovation.

This event will also include the European Foundation of Quality Management (EFQM) Excellence Awards which recognises the best-performing organisations in the region.

This is the 25th anniversary of the awards being held in Northern Ireland and Centre for Competitiveness Chief Executive Bob Barbour said the awards ceremony would be a celebration of the very best in local innovation and enterprise.

“This year’s awards recipients and presenters represent a range of industries and sectors who all have a commitment to ensure excellence is an integral part of what they do,” he said.

“Performance has never been more important for our organisations whether they hail from the manufacturing, service, public or voluntary sector.

We wanted to offer attendees both the opportunity to hear directly from a diverse range of super-performing organisations and attend open-mic panel discussions on topical issues ranging from navigating a hyper-competitive marketplace to IOT, hyper-connectivity and energy.”

The conference will also hear from Northern Ireland native and the Institute of Directors (Scotland) current Director of the Year Wheatley Group Chief Executive Martin Armstrong who will present on how The Wheatley Group – the UK’s largest builder of social rented homes and how it achieves consistently high levels of team performance. The group’s largest subsidiary, Glasgow Housing Association (GHA), received the EFQM 2017 Global Excellence Award, one of only three winners from a 30,000 strong membership network.
