Thousands of people came together to celebrate, connect and enjoy everything Northern Ireland has to offer. The atmosphere was something special—a brilliant reminder of the warmth, creativity and community spirit that make this such a great place to live and work.
That same energy is increasingly visible across Northern Ireland’s business and technology sectors.
As a specialist tech recruiter, I have experienced the highs and lows of our market over the past few years. However, there is now a genuine feeling that things are beginning to shift.
Businesses across Northern Ireland are continuing to grow, invest and embrace new technologies. In particular, we are seeing a significant increase in demand for professionals working across AI, data, software development and digital transformation.

We are also recruiting for job titles that were uncommon—or did not even exist—a few years ago. These include AI Engineers, Machine Learning Engineers, LLM Engineers, MLOps Engineers, AI Product Managers and AI Governance Specialists.
Traditional technology roles are changing too. Data Engineers are working more closely with AI platforms, Software Developers are integrating AI capabilities into products, and technology leaders are being asked to create responsible AI and data strategies.
AI is no longer something companies are simply discussing. Businesses are now considering how they can use it practically—whether that means improving customer experiences, automating processes, making better use of their data or developing completely new products and services.
This is creating exciting opportunities for Data Engineers, AI and Machine Learning specialists, Software Developers, Architects and technology leaders. It is also changing the skills employers require and encouraging more organisations to think carefully about how they attract, develop and retain specialist talent.
Northern Ireland has so much to offer these professionals. We have ambitious local businesses, international organisations, excellent universities and a growing technology community—all alongside the culture, character and strong sense of community showcased so brilliantly during the Fleadh.

There is still work to do. We must continue developing local skills, creating opportunities for emerging talent and encouraging experienced professionals to build their careers here. Businesses also need to move quickly when they identify the right people, particularly in highly competitive areas such as AI and data.
However, the momentum is real.
The Fleadh showed what Northern Ireland can achieve when talent, creativity and community come together. If we can carry that same spirit into our businesses and technology sector, the opportunities ahead are incredibly exciting.
