The team at Rakuten is searching for an intern to use their knowledge to help with complex real-world scenarios within the Rakuten ecosystem. Prospective candidates must have the ability to work in a diverse team dealing with security experts from various corners of the world, and should additionally have experience working with all aspects of the SDLC and operation security for the services developed within Rakuten.
Rakuten is also offering the opportunity to work with peer engineers, allowing the intern to be mentored, joining vulnerability assessments and penetration projects to enable candidates to learn how to secure all Rakuten group’s mobile applications and infrastructure. Strong ownership skills are similarly crucial to the company, and an ideal candidate should have experience in one or more scripting languages such as Python or Ruby or experience in mobile development. They additionally must have experience in CTF or related security events, and an understanding of the concept of OWASP top 10. This position is a year long placement based with the group security team in the company's global head-quarters in Tokyo, and the firm will pay for Flights and accommodation as well as arranging working visas.
