Leading global ICT company Fujitsu is set to reward Northern Ireland’s most innovative agri-science creation for the third year running at the prestigious Connect at Catalyst Inc INVENT 2017 Awards.
The INVENT Awards aim to find Northern Ireland’s next breakthrough invention while inspiring up and coming entrepreneurs and inventors. This year’s twelve finalists have already competed in several challenging rounds of pitches and are now in with a chance of winning a share of the £33,000 prize fund and a place on the NI Tech Mission to California. Each finalist will take part in an interactive 'elevator pitch' at the Awards Final which will be hosted by broadcaster William Crawley on Thursday 5th October in the Belfast Waterfront Conference Centre.
In the Agri-Science Category, KegoMatic - an automated beer keg solution which analyses data and switches kegs automatically - will compete against The Skinny Sauce Company, a range of sugar free, gluten free, all natural sauce, for the top prize.
Congratulating the finalists, Sinéad Dillon Principal Consultant at Fujitsu said;
“The growth of our agri-science industry has powerful economic benefits locally and can have an impact globally by tackling important issues such as supply, security and health issues. We are delighted to continue to support this important category at the INVENT Awards and offer advice to the entrants throughout the process.
From the creative application of technology to overcome an issue, to capitalising on nutritional analysis, both KegoMatic and the Skinny Sauce Company have demonstrated the innovating thinking and problem solving needed to succeed in the agri-food sector. We offer our congratulations to this year’s finalists on their strong performance so far and look forward to hearing their elevator pitches at the final in October.”
