Danske Bank has extended its partnership with the Northern Ireland Football League (NIFL), as title sponsors of the Premiership and the Women’s Premiership for a further three years. The deal with Danske Bank follows last month’s announcement that NIFL has signed a new broadcast agreement with Sky Sports until the end of the 2021/22 season.
Managing Director of the NI Football League, Andrew Johnston, says that retaining a respected brand like Danske Bank sends a strong message that football in Northern Ireland is worth investing in: “The extension of our partnership with Danske Bank is fantastic news for the NIFL, our clubs and our supporters. Danske Bank is a hugely respected business with a strong brand and it speaks volumes that they have continued to invest in the Northern Ireland Football League.
“Over the last number of seasons, we have built and developed an extremely beneficial relationship with Danske Bank. Attendance figures have increased year on year and that is in part to the fantastic work they do to bring more attention to the local game.”
Danske Bank Chief Executive, Kevin Kingston, commented: “The Danske Bank Premiership is one of the greatest showcases for local sporting talent in this country and has a huge following both at home and abroad, making it one of Northern Ireland’s top sponsorship properties.
“Danske Bank is proud to support local sport, right through from grassroots and youth team level to the highest league in the country. We have seen the passion of the fans, coaches and players over the last number of years and extending our partnership for a further three years was an easy decision to make.”
Mr Kingston added: “Our partnership with the NI Football League is one of which we are immensely proud, and we look forward to further developing our successful relationship over the next three years.”
