Danske Bank has announced the appointment of a new economist. Conor Lambe joins the leading local bank from PwC in London, where he also worked as an economist.
The 27-year old, originally from the village of Carrowdore in County Down, is a past pupil of Regent House School in Newtownards. He holds a first-class honours degree in Economics from the University of St Andrews in Scotland.
With an ambition to work in the city of London, he relocated there in 2012 to begin a career as part of the highly regarded Economics & Policy team at PwC. While there, Conor specialised in macroeconomic analysis and regularly contributed to PwC's series of economic publications. Conor delivered both thought leadership reports and client services at PwC, and has notable experience in areas that include macroeconomic scenario development, economic forecasting, data analysis and economic research.
Commenting on the appointment, Stephen Matchett, Chief Financial Officer at Danske Bank, said:
"After a highly competitive recruitment process we are delighted to welcome Conor as our new Economist. He was clearly a rising star at PwC and we are delighted that he has chosen to return home to Northern Ireland to take up this exciting position at Danske Bank. He will bring with him fresh insights and perspectives on the UK, Irish and local economies. We believe he will be a valuable addition not just to Danske Bank, but also to wider societal economic debate."
Conor Lambe will take up his new position at Danske Bank's head office in Belfast on 3 January 2017.
