Allstate NI renews its energy contract with Electric Ireland

  • Electric Ireland has announced that it has been chosen by Northern Ireland’s largest IT Company Allstate NI to renew its renewable energy contract.

    Allstate NI is a major centre for innovative software development, covering the full software lifecycle of design, development, maintenance and support to the global operations of its US parent company, Allstate Corporation. Allstate NI is supplied with 100% green electricity from Electric Ireland, enabling the company to become more resourceful and efficient helping to grow their business organically.

    The deal will see Electric Ireland supply 2.5 million units of electricity energy, the equivalent electricity needed to power around 1000 homes, to Allstate NI’s sites across Northern Ireland. The company first teamed up with Electric Ireland in 2011 and the partnership has formed a key component in the company’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions and streamline energy consumption.

    Commenting on the contract win Electric Ireland’s Business Markets Manager, Tony Dunlea said “Since our entry into the competitive electricity market 15 years ago we have steadily developed a wide range of product offerings to meet our customers’ specific requirements and also a wide ranging renewable energy portfolio here in Northern Ireland.

    “Our renewed partnership with Allstate NI is another example of our credentials and commitment to delivering the appropriate green energy product at competitive prices. We have structured this contract in a way which will enable Allstate NI to save time and resources and reduce energy usage with online consumption reporting which will help to implement efficiency initiatives for the company. Allstate NI has demonstrated real leadership in terms of its environmental objectives and at Electric Ireland we are delighted to continue to support them in delivering change.”

    Electric Ireland has supplied Allstate in Northern Ireland with competitively priced locally generated energy from its growing renewable energy portfolio.

    The announcement comes as Electric Ireland continues to grow its operations in Northern Ireland after entering the domestic market last year.
