The Blanchardstown-based office of Liberty Information Technology (Liberty IT) is delighted to announce that the company has been officially recognised as one of Ireland’s Best Workplaces 2016. This prestigious accolade was presented at the Great Place to Work Awards in the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, Dublin on Wednesday 24th February.

Opened in 2014, Liberty IT’s Dublin office currently employs 70 members of staff with a further 420+ employees based in the company’s Belfast office, which has been in operation since 1997. Liberty IT is a wholly owned subsidiary of US based Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, and plays a key part in Liberty Mutual’s wider IT operations which employs almost 5000 IT professionals globally.

Liberty IT provides complex and innovative IT solutions across a wide variety of IT disciplines and roles including Software Engineering, Information Security, Hosting and Help Desk. Contributing factors to the company’s ranking on the Best Workplaces list this year include its high levels of credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie.

The methodology behind the Best Workplaces Programme, which has been recognising outstanding workplaces in Ireland for fourteen years, makes it one of the most rigorous assessments available and uniquely comprises both an employee survey and an audit into organisations’ management and HR practices, together providing a holistic view of the company. With an impressive 91% of Liberty’s staff completing this survey this year, it is evident that workplace satisfaction is high among Liberty IT staff.

“We are delighted to be recognised as one of the best places to work in Ireland,” said Felim O’Donnell, Operations Director, Liberty IT. “We pride ourselves on our high levels of employee satisfaction and are proud that this is being acknowledged on this year’s list of best workplaces. We hope that this accolade will help to build the reputation of Liberty IT as an innovative, forward-thinking IT company in Dublin.”

Cathy Donnelly, HR Director, Liberty IT added, “Employees are drawn to Liberty IT’s Dublin office because it offers them the best of both worlds, giving them the opportunity to jump on board a newly-formed, growing team with the support of an established, global corporation, Liberty Mutual Insurance Group.”

John Ryan, CEO, Great Place to Work Ireland said, “At this stage, most organisations have seen the importance of defining their culture and supporting its development with practices, real lived values, and a clear set of desired behaviours to drive organisational performance. In the past, only the most progressive companies focused on these areas. Today it is the norm.”

Mr Ryan continued, “This year’s listed organisations have gone one step further, ensuring there is a clear alignment between their culture, climate, structure, practices and behaviours. This creates an employee experience where talent can thrive, and the organisation can adapt and achieve. Personally, I would like to congratulate each and every person in the organisations who have achieved the status of ‘great’, as it is clear that leadership or HR cannot make this happen alone. It is a group effort that requires everybody’s energy, enthusiasm, and engagement.”
