Allstate operate a very flexible hybrid working policy that will allow you to design your working week in collaboration with your manager with a blend of remote and office working for NI based employees as well as condensed working patterns (4 day week/9 day fortnight). Employees based in GB will be employed on a permanent remote working contract.

Your role in the team
Enterprise Shared Services (ESS) are excited to be looking for a Senior Manager (SM), driving strategy and delivery within the Voice Applications area primarily leading the Non-Agency enterprise programs and strategic delivery of Automation and Voice for the Allstate Enterprise. The SM will have responsibility for creating and maintaining relationships with industry and peer groups and requires a high level of collaboration with Business Partners across the enterprise. This includes Sr Executives, facilitating the delivery of their goals and strategies. The successful candidate will lead full featured product delivery from incubation to launch leveraging one or more Voice technologies and serving customers and Agencies across the Allstate brand.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)
People Management:
- Builds and maintains relationships with all levels of employees by creating an environment of innovation and entrepreneurship within their organization and across peer groups
- Identifies and proactively removes barriers to cooperative effort between teams and department
- Models and creates an environment of accountability for their organization, peer groups and leaders by setting clear performance objectives in support of business outcomes
- Leads the process of establishing vision, direction and specific objectives for the organization
- Collects multiple levels of staff performance data against desired outcomes and service level agreements
- Serves as a role model for personal development, incorporating 360-degree performance feedback. Maintains organizational focus on talent development.
- Identifies and leads change in their organization in alignment with broader organizational change initiatives. Uses personal influence to enlist employees and peers in implementing change
- Leads globally across multiple locations and time zones creating a strong virtual team that operates under a common direction
- Establish strong partnerships with the US delivery leads in the development of the Global Voice teams that they will lead.
Strategy:
- Develops ideas and team strategy that have long-term, strategic impact on area of responsibility and that align with Enterprise direction.
- Responsible for initiating work and allocating resources necessary to implement strategy and achieve organizational goals.
- Communicates strategy to the organization so they understand their roles, are motivated to achieve established goals and have line of the sight between their work and Allstate strategies.
- Converts thinking of others or gains acceptance of complex ideas where difficult but necessary to achieve goals and objectives.
- Manages multiple teams with significant, complex assignments.
- Creates structures and processes that provide oversight of budgets and delivery yet allow employees freedom of action.
- Applies knowledge and efforts to diverse and complex situations, where alternatives are numerous, to drive business solutions on behalf of the organization.
- Makes decisions that have an impact on quality or effectiveness of business activities beyond their area of responsibility.
- Creates structures and processes that promote an environment of innovation and experimentation for direct reports, peer groups, leaders and the organization.
Business Partner Management:
- Influences individual contributors, Sr Executives, leaders in technology and in the business, service providers and peers to successfully deliver on business commitments spanning across multiple organizations.
- Partners with others in their organization to set and manage expectations; continually seeks opportunities to be a thought partner and increase internal business partner satisfaction and deepen relationships.
- Negotiates solutions for issues that may be complex or controversial across multiple teams/functional groups.
- Adapts complex communication approaches for audiences at multiple internal and external levels
So, what are the essential criteria to apply?
- All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK'
- 5+ years as a leader of engineering teams preferably in the voice related technology; and
- Minimum of 3 years technical leadership experience including accountability for all aspects of leading an organization including people processes, client/partner relationships, work processes and delivery of work products; and
- Proven ability in strategy planning and implementation which has had an impact on the technology direction for the division, business segment and/or enterprise; and
- Has a working knowledge of voice technologies and how they can be applied to support enterprise telephony needs.
We also have some desirable criteria
- Degree (IT preferable)
- Previous experience with Voice technologies.
- Previous product development experience for full stack products
- Managing workload and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation), organizational and collaboration skills people processes, client/partner relationships, work processes and delivery of work products;
