    Your role in the team

     

     

    The Project Management Office (PMO) is a catalyst for changing the global organization to an agile product and services mindset through transformative delivery right at the heart of the Allstate Corporation. As we continue to grow the PMO footprint at ANI we are seeking experienced managers with a delivery/practitioner background to join our team.

     

    You will work alongside people as passionate as you, focused on delivering the best possible customer experiences. You will work in a highly collaborative environment primed to adapt to an ever changing landscape and which places technology solutions at its core.

In this role you will have full accountability for the successful delivery of projects within your portfolio in addition to management of your next level leaders and other direct reports.

     

    This is an exciting role for anyone already in this space looking for a new challenge or for those with a relevant background wanting to progress their career working with top global talent in a progressive technology company servicing the US insurance market.

     

     

    Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)

     

    Global Leadership

     

    • Builds long-term relationships within the global team and amongst peers
    • Models and creates an environment of trust, accountability and innovation for direct reports and peers
    • Establishes vision, direction, and specific objectives for team efforts; provides the freedom to accomplish objectives
    • Embraces ambiguity and leads employees through changes to the operating model
    • Encourages a shift to a Product Mindset
    • Executes HR-related processes and develops staff through coaching and mentoring and performance feedback.
    • Continuously looks for ways to ensure teams include the best talent

     

    General Management & Decision Making

     

    • Sets and executes team strategy, including objectives, plans and policies for area of responsibility so as to develop and deliver innovative solutions and systems in support of Enterprise goals.  Communicates strategy to the team so they understand their role in achieving the established goals.
    • Manages day to day work of employees by leveraging data to drive delivery outcomes. This includes monitoring budgets, expenses and scope to facilitate project delivery and support for complex projects of critical importance.
    • Works closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.
    • Makes decisions that have an impact on quality or effectiveness of business activities beyond their immediate team.
    • Initiates and implements continuous improvements in all areas of IT responsibility. 
    • Proactively anticipates risks / issues and develops preventive measures.
    • Analyzes long-term impact of new or anticipated strategies and contributes to Allstate business and functional strategy.

     

     Business Partner Management

     

    • Influences direct reports, clients, service providers and peers to successfully deliver on business commitments.
    • Partners with others in their organization to set and manage expectations; continually seeks opportunities to be a thought partner and increase internal business partner satisfaction and deepen relationships.
    • Negotiates solutions for issues that may be complex or controversial.
    • Adapts communication approach for audiences at multiple internal and external levels.

     

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK'
    • Minimum of 5 years as a Project / Program management practitioner in multiple technology environments and / or consulting experience of technology solutions delivery
    • Minimum of 5 years of global people or technical leadership or equivalent experience leading a team or working in a team oriented collaborative environment
    • Demonstrated track record in delivering multiple complex projects and / or programs
    • Excellent Analytical and Strategic Skills
    • Exceptionally strong stakeholder management experience and ability to influence upward to VP level
    • Demonstrated experience leading significant organizational change efforts

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

    • Third level IT/Engineering/Management Degree or HND
    • Significant experience delivering using multi-methodologies eg. agile scrum/XP
    • PMP, CSP, CSM, SAFe Agilist, SPC certification or equivalent certifications
    • Human Capital Planning and Financial Forecasting
    • Capacity Management & Resource Allocation
