Senior Production Support Engineer (hybrid or remote)

    Our Unified Consumer View Technology Solutions team is responsible for delivering new functionality to support the Consumer Data platform and providing a 360 view of customer information across all channels.

     

    This position is in Allstate's Data & intelligent Systems organization and is responsible for Customer Data. The Production Support Engineer provides front-line primary technical support to end users on various technical issues and problems. Position is also responsible for responding to, documenting, and participating in rapid response calls.

     

    The Production Support Engineer must have excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose, evaluate and resolve complex problem situations, or when appropriate, escalate or route them to appropriate technology staff members. 

     

    Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)

     

    • First & Second level support
    • Production Support and On-Call rotation  
    • Participate and lead in Rapid Response calls/meetings to resolve issues
    • Participate and lead Root cause analysis post resolution
    • Support DevOps/Continuous Integration - Continuous Deployment framework (CI/CD)
    • Related Life cycle validation tasks (EG, validating batch job functionality after an Oracle version upgrade)
    • Participating in Disaster Recovery exercises
    • Ability to partner closely with key business stakeholders
    • Provide technical assistance
    • Analyze and resolve moderate to complex problems

     

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK'
    • 3 + years’ experience in a production support role with expertise in Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
    • Experience in supporting Cloud based applications
    • Experience in tools such as Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk, SQL Developer, Oracle, Mongo, Grafana, Tibco BW5.14
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze technical information

     

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

    • MDM/Infosphere
    • Java experience
    • PCF experience
    • Experience in Cloud based infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc)
    • Previous Experience of agile (including use of agile tools such as Version 1)
    • ITIL certifications
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively collaborate with multi-disciplinary groups and all organizational levels
    • Strong project/ team leadership skills
    • Must be self-motivated with the ability to accomplish tasks independently
    • Ability to effectively work with a globally distributed cross-functional team
