    Your role in the team

     

    We are looking for a talented financial consultant to join the Allstate Financial Planning & Analysis team, delivering meaningful reporting, analysis and processes for a Fortune 100 company. We work with talented individuals who come together as a team to support the Allstate Investments organization.

     

    Allstate Investments manages approximately $70 Billion of assets. The size of the investment group exceeds 300 individuals across a variety of investment disciplines including, fixed income, equities, private securities, commercial mortgages and derivative asset classes, as well as, finance and technology.     The Finance and Planning team is responsible for developing internal management-based reporting for The Allstate Corporation’s Investments Portfolio; producing timely and insightful results and projection analysis; and preparing the annual strategic and operating plans and related forecasts.

     

    The Finance and Planning Consultant is responsible for supporting the day to day activities of the Finance and Planning Team.  They are expected to manage his/her assignments based on prioritization, help to identify issues as circumstances merit, and provide recommendations for process improvement.  In addition, they should have an understanding of economics and financial statement reporting for investments. 

     

     

    Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)

     

    • Support the internal management reporting and analysis activities for Allstate’s investment portfolio by preparing analysis, compiling reports, and assisting in updating presentations in support of team deliverables
    • Participate on current reporting project and complete analyses as requested by management
    • Own and be accountable for execution of responsibilities
    • Work collaboratively within team and with suppliers of plan and data manipulation
    • Able to work with large amounts of data and able to ensure the accuracy of the results
    • Clearly articulate point-of-view, and analyze problems with assistance of management
    • Understand monthly timeline with goal to meet or exceed deliverables; communicate challenges and roadblocks to deliverable timing with the rest of the team to determine potential work-arounds
    • Prepare and maintain on-going documentation with regard to analytical concepts/methodologies and associated process controls
    • Ability to react and update processes to changing requirements from management which could include additional portfolio or asset class breakouts
    • Typical metrics analyzed include but are not limited to: net investment income, yield, realized and unrealized gains or losses, portfolio allocations, positioning and expenses

     

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK'
    • A degree classification in Finance, or related discipline, OR
      • A degree in a non-finance related discipline but supported with a post-graduate qualification within a finance or accountancy related discipline, OR
      • At least 3 years experience in a Finance role
    • General understanding of financial and accounting concepts
    • 2 years experience within a finance based role
    • Applicants must be willing and eligible to travel to the USA

    • Experience with data visualization software including PowerBI, Tableau or other
