Data Classification Analyst (hybrid or remote)

    Your role in the team

     

    The Data Protection Engineer will focus on the daily design, implementation, management, sustainment, and coordination of the Allstate Data Classification/Data Marking platform(s). This individual will work with the Data Protection Services program to ensure policies are in place that meet business needs and drivers. This engineer will also serve as the liaison for data classification working cross-functionally to identify and help mitigate potential solutions to prevent risks.

     

     

    Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)

     

    • Design, Implement, Manage and Sustain Data Classification controls.
    • Serve as a Data Classification subject matter expert within the organization to span technical, operational, governance, and business considerations.
    • Leads and/or provides research for proof of concepts leading to selection process.
    • Metrics collection and reporting of details relevant to data classification.
    • Troubleshoot issues / document root cause, resolutions.
    • Drive conversations around Digital Rights Management controls
    • Coordination with technology, Human Resources, Privacy, and business groups as necessary.
    • Provide technical and understanding training to peers and business stakeholders.
    • Drives quality reviews of current solutions and provide technical guidance to improve overall security.  Promoting implementation of new technology leading to efficiency and value.

     

     

     

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK
    • 5+ years’ experience of operational experience; must have implemented and managed Data Classification platforms; must possess strong technical knowledge of Data Classification architecture, system policies, rules, etc.
    • Experience working with Microsoft Information Protection (MIP) suite, Titus, or other major platforms.
    • Experience working with unstructured data, metadata, email headers, data labeling, and classification
    • Strong understanding of general security and networking concepts and experience applying same in corporate network environments

     

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

    • Ability to motivate and inspires others to perform at a high level, taking appropriate risks, and accepting personal accountability for actions and decisions
    • Moderate experience with scripting (Regex, PowerShell, PERL, etc.)
    • Moderate experience with cloud computing
    • Moderate experience with building or consulting on tooling proposals
    • Basic to moderate experience with Data Loss Prevention suites
    • Self-learner with a passion for IT security who is adaptable to changing requirements
    • Ability to work successfully with others in large and small teams
