    Your role in the team


    Flight continuously improves software quality for Allstate and is our identity for testing and release management.

     

    We are helping build the next generation Insurance Engine for Allstate and have an opportunity for a leader at the cutting edge of testing technology

     

    Your role through a combination of technical knowledge and leadership skills will be to ensure quality is built in for all capabilities in the new platform so that it is seamless, on demand, automated and invisible.

     

    The ideal person will have working knowledge of test automation in complex and large environments, be passionate about delivering quality products and confident in working with technical leaders, developers and architects as well as demonstrating and valuing emergent leadership.

     

    The Test Engineers you lead will be part of multiple product teams which are key to the overall delivery of the customer experience. This role will report directly to a Senior manager and be part of suite of consumer based products. 

     

    The role is a fantastic opportunity to partner across the global teams and establish yourself as a key leader in driving the success of delivering continuous quality. You will be working with your Teams and leveraging Flight to influence:

     

    • Shift left Test Strategy
    • Mature Automation practices

    Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)

     

    • Influencing best practice across the wider product teams
    • Building and leading team members across geographies
    • Ensuring utilization of industry test techniques, tools, and methodology to provide ‘Best in Class’ testing services
    • Ability to inspire and enthuse a team
    • Ability to partner with peers to deliver successful products
    • Ability to understand and absorb large amounts of information quickly
    • Ability to make the complex seem simple creating a coherent and easily absorbed narrative

     

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK
    • Have 5 years general Development or Testing experience
    • Be able to demonstrate:
    • The establishment and maintenance of product KPIs
    • Successful implementation of test automation in a complex environment with complex Data dependencies
    • Understanding of testing practices such as TDD, BDD and applicability to different situations
    • Understanding of different types and levels of testing, including services, UI and performance testing
    • Strong working knowledge of Agile SCRUM methodology and testing’s role within it

     

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

    • Experience in working in an Agile environment
    • Experience in testing using Test Driven Development (TDD)
    • Experience in testing using Business Driven Development (BDD)
    • Usage of systems that support Continuous Integration (CI systems) - GitHub, Maven, Jenkins etc
    • Usage of Services testing tools
    • Usage of performance testing tools
    • PEN Testing
    • Static Code Analysis Tools
