Team/Function Overview:
The Total Conduct Programme is iteratively building a sophisticated next generation surveillance solution on top of a distributed data platform. The Belfast team is the global centre for:
The creation of feature-based surveillance algorithms using cutting edge technologies and techniques,
Design and delivery of engines to process millions of communications per day,
Integration of voice and e-comm source systems into our surveillance platform, and the transport of the resulting data through the surveillance pipeline,
Business Intelligence on all data at every level.
Additional teams within the Programme deliver:
Case management – User Interface and back end components to allow our Citi internal clients to deal with the potential policy breaches highlighted by the engines, taking them through an auditable disposition lifecycle to ensure they’re dealt with correctly.

In Life Operations and Monitoring.
The volume and variety of data involved in these surveillances, the complexity of the algorithms, scale of resulting case data, workflows across global teams, and analytics delivers a most challenging use case for big data, voice recognition and various other leading edge technologies.
The Programme has successfully grown from a single component COTS (Commercial – Off the Shelf) package to a multi-component, sophisticated surveillance suite (In House & COTS) on which Citi is heavily reliant for delivering legal and regulatory compliance operations effectively and efficiently on a day to day as well as strategic basis.
As a result of this success, many exciting and challenging developments are being requested by our Citi colleagues, requiring more focus on designing solutions across all components, rather than focusing on individual areas.
The Role:
A Total Conduct Solution Designer will act as the interface between Business requirements and the raw power of the Programme Technology teams.
They shall translate those requirements into proposed high level designs to be implemented in a cohesive way across all the different components to meet the full extent of the business need in as effective and efficient manner. They work to develop and align with architectural direction set by the wider architecture team.
We work as and succeed as a team, complimenting each other’s skills and expertise. This role will play a critical part in the larger (~100+) Programme team. The post holder will reach out to and work with many other teams in different disciplines across the world, and at every level from Junior Analyst to Managing Director.
Key Responsibilities:
Become a Subject Matter Expert in the roles, capabilities and limitations of each component in the Platform and how they all fit together to deliver each end-to-end solution.
Contribute to work led by our Business Analysts in generating overarching solution requirements for specific initiatives – steering those requirements from a strategy, practicality, and efficiency perspective to fit with our existing and evolving architecture.
Assess impact of those requirements across the components that make up our Total Conduct Platform, deriving ‘order of magnitude’ impact in all areas; Iterate with the Business and Business Analysts on fitting requirements into cost, and primarily priority and timescale constraints.
Identify economies of scale and opportunities to improve both effectiveness and efficiency of Programme outputs and outcomes through existing and new technologies.
Develop, document and effectively communicate solution / end to end designs to deliver specific requirements/initiatives across all components within the Platform, taking account of performance, operability, maintainability and security, and prevailing Citi development standards.
Contribute to, provide feedback on, and adopt evolving best working practice across all the Programme Component teams to iteratively improve collaboration, communication, agility, quality and delivery cycle time through adoption of appropriate methodologies.
Development Value:

Knowledge/Experience:
Essential:
Experience in a Development, Research, Design or Solution (End-to-End) Design (minimum 3 year)
Able to assimilate large numbers of potentially conflicting requirements and derive solution designs spanning multiple, complex components, i.e. have high bandwidth.
Able to quickly become proficient in the capabilities of distinct and interacting technologies, and how these can be exploited to deliver practical solutions.
Organized and prepared to manage multiple parallel pieces of work
Capable of deriving, articulating and documenting complex designs & concepts for large scale globally distributed projects to a client-facing standard
Exceptional attention to detail
Experience in providing and adopting feedback on new processes & technologies
Pro-actively manage own tasks and projects to agreed deadlines
Excellent communications, interpersonal and organizational skills
Excellent teamworking skills.
Desirable:
Data analysis or data modelling experience a significant advantage
Strong ability in working with database queries (Relational or Big Data)
Experience with a system that processes large volumes of complex data
Experience of working in an Agile delivery environment (Atlassian Toolset)
Qualifications:
A strong degree in any mathematical subject including physics, mathematics, engineering or computer science.
