    Your role in the team

     

     

    The Platform Management and Concierge Manager will work with the Platform Manager, Product Manager, Sr. Manager and Lead Engineers to establish a platform concierge service and various platform management disciplines in our strategic hosting portfolio including Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes and other containerization automation products.

     

     

    The Associate Manager leads team members, manages time and cost estimates, assigns people to work, collects feedback, reviews and evaluates work, and prepares performance evaluations. The individual confers with and advises direct reports on administrative policies and procedures, risks, issues, problem resolution, budget and priorities.

     

     

    Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)

     

    • This leader will be responsible for establishing new platform management disciplines as part of our new operating model as we iterate from our mature Cloud Foundry to our next generation Kubernetes platform.  Being flexible and comfortable with ambiguity will be important.  Examples include platform onboarding, capacity management, charge back, etc.
    • Demonstrate ability to apply business knowledge to achieve work objectives, working closely with leaders and clients in meeting their business needs, the understanding and following policies, processes and procedures in our area, and the ability to discuss Allstate's business objectives, culture and values
    • Understands Allstate’s core business drivers as demonstrated by the ability to articulate our business objectives and their alignment to Allstate’s strategic direction, successfully prepare long-range plans for a project, prioritize objectives into manageable and measurable units, and practice Allstate’s policies, processes and procedures.  Manages day to day work of employees by monitoring budgets, expenses and scope and facilitating project delivery and support for complex products of critical importance.
    • Possess an understanding of delivery leadership demonstrated by the accomplishment of results through influence, coaching, communication and commitment with minimal use of authority and control, the successful resolution of conflicts and disciplinary problems, the ability to  successfully deliver communication to all management levels without requiring support and instruction from others, identify and break work down into discrete and measurable tasks, set priorities, define dependencies, schedule activities, prepare acceptance criteria and organize work for one or more large projects.
    • Design, develop, analyze, and report on critical metrics that provide insights into overall health ensuring that complicated information is delivered effectively and efficiently.
    • This leader also recognizes and removes barriers, creates enthusiasm and a desire to succeed within the teams, accurately assesses the strengths and development needs of team members.
    • Champions open and honest communication

    • Leads by example with integrity
    • Welcomes new ideas, learns from successes and failures

     

     

     

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK'
    • At minimum 4 years relevant IT industry experience  
    • A minimum 2 years’ management experience and demonstrated high competency in the execution of multiple large projects and gained experience in managing resources to meet goals across multiple projects and competing priorities

     

    The ideal candidate must also demonstrate competency in:

     

    • Knowledge of expense and resource management processes
    • Solid understanding of Self Awareness
    • Solid understanding of delivery leadership
    • Excellent written/verbal communication and facilitation skills for communicating at all levels (employees and leaders); including strong presentation skills
    • Comfort with ambiguity and able to independently drive resolution of issues and challenges

     

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

    •  Experience managing a shared platform
