    Allstate operate a very flexible hybrid working policy that will allow you to design your working week in collaboration with your manager with a blend of remote and office working for NI based employees as well as condensed working patterns (4 day week/9 day fortnight). Employees based in GB will be employed on a permanent remote working contract.

    Your role in the team

     

    PMO Project Managers are accountable for delivery and monitoring all aspects of a program/project, which involves pursuit and/or project delivery including scope, timelines, resources, budget, risks and issues, relationships, and communication. Furthermore, they are accountable for successful program/project delivery on time, within budget, and meet or exceed quality expectations.

    Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)

     

    • Demonstrates mastery of best practices in project management, Agile principles and communication processes and contributes to the improvement of these processes at Allstate
    • Demonstrates thought leadership in problem solving, staff development and effective interaction with senior management
    • Takes the lead role in highly pressurized situations when there is a need to communicate critical project information while remaining sensitive to organizational politics
    • Drives planning, execution and achievement of enterprise level projects success factors
    • Lead complex / critical project execution impacting teams, departments and aspects of functional and business results managing project relationships (DCIO, business & vendors). 
    • Independently capable of determining approach to managing projects understanding business strategic initiatives and objectives and how the project will deliver them using functional, business, and technical knowledge to deliver the best solution.
    • Recognize gap in processes and recommend holistic solutions for remedy or improvement
    • Manage multiple project deliveries using waterfall, multi-method or agile delivery methods from initiation through to deploy and close per agreed schedule, budget, quality and scope.
    • Provide direction and oversight throughout project lifecycle to achieve business objectives
    • Assess and report project health in an objective manner, maintaining transparency and accurate status; communicate project status and issues to be easily understood by the appropriate stakeholder audience
    • Motivate others to share in project challenges and inspire them to achieve project goals
    • Be a trusted advisor: provide independent thought leadership, direction and coaching; demonstrate ownership and accountability
    • Collaborate effectively with colleagues to drive quality improvements where possible including risk-based defect handling eg. profiling, prioritizing critical defects, defect closure during test phase, on closure review, RCA and follow-up
    • Facilitate workshops, meetings, planning sessions, stakeholder reviews, FAQ sessions, and retrospectives ensuring validation and sharing of lessons learned and follow through on improvement opportunities.
    • Be conversant on agile methodologies, tools and techniques and inject them into the project work as appropriate, providing coaching where required
    • Carry out any other duties that may reasonably be required from time to time

     

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK
    • 3 years project manager experience in multiple technology environments and/or consulting experience in technology solutions.
    • Demonstrated track record in delivering multiple complex projects with a strong focus on execution; and
    • Experience of waterfall and agile development methodologies; and

     

     

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

    • Experience in the delivery of IT Security projects
    • Experience of delivering complex multi-shore, multi-method projects.
    • Relevant project management / delivery certifications e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, Scaled Agile SA/SP
    • Excellent written/verbal communication and facilitation skills for communicating at all levels; including strong presentation skills; and
    • Strong consultative, customer focus skills
